Canadian awesomeness

Ha, a trip down memory lane:)))
[this is good]

THANK YOU! I enjoyed that so much! I sang along and still remembered all the words (of the main part, not the twiddly bits the second half of the choir was singing). I remember those cute-a-licious coins with the bunnies and lynxes and whatnot! Every once in a very very long while, I see one. I'll have to start saving them for you. In the vid, I especially enjoyed the glimpse of Maggie Muggins and Mr. McGarrity (loved them when I was a kid), and the Centennial Train -- our school class went to see it. It was cool.

Thanks again!

I should have said, "every Canadian kid knew this song--unless you lived in Quebec". I was never taught it. And I know Anglos who were born in Montreal around Expo, but didn't learn Ca-Na-da until their folks moved to Toronto or Winnipeg or wherever.
I've never heard the song before, but I would expect it was only kids who were old enough to learn it in 1967 for the Centennial. Those coins were the special Centennial year coins. They pop up in change once in a while but for the most part they were hoarded.
