Fuckity FUCK. I just tried to post and upload a video. I got the following existential error message from Vox:
"Sadly, your search couldn’t be completed. You could try again, but it still might not work. The world is a very unpredictable place. For this, we are truly sorry."That sounds very, um, Protestant.
LT was describing how HRH Tortie has been curling up under the covers now that the weather has turned chilly. Which got me thinking: my office is pretty cold. I was going to bring in a little heater, but discovered they are "unauthorized" because of a potential fire hazard. So why not have a nice, warm, furry, cuddly animal to sit in my lap instead? Preferably one of these:
Meet the Pallas' Cat. It lives on the Asian steppes and grows no bigger than a large housecat. It appears to be 80% floof:
And check out the kittens. How nice would a brace of these little guys be on a frosty winter morning?
To my delight, they've been re-airing this hilarious Canadian ad from almost 20 years ago:
Apparently the two actors playing the little old Jewish ladies have since passed away. They were adorable in this ad and they still make me LOL!
This amazing lip-dub video was made a couple of months ago during Frosh week by Communications students at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). They recorded it in a single take and got almost every student in the program involved. It's gone viral on YouTube, and deservedly so! So much fun! I wish we'd been able to do this kind of thing back when I was in university.
My apartment has all hardwood floors, even the bathroom (except for the slate tile in the kitchen).
There is one carpet in the entire place: a very small (doormat size) but very nice oriental rug i keep in front of the bathroom sink because it is so thick, warm and soft on my bare feet when I'm brushing my teeth..
Guess where the cat has elected to barf?
*sound of crickets chirping and wind blowing*
Sparse comments, hardly any new posts...where is everybody? Vox is deserted these days...
Inspired salad of smoked trout, arugula, peaches, heirloom tomato and a few chanterelles sauteed in white wine, butter and rosemary from my balcony planter. The last ear of corn from the half-dozen I bought at the roadside stand earlier this week. And a lovely gewürtz-riesling blend. And what company? Just me, the cat and John Coltrane. NMS is on a 3-day canoe-camping trip with one of his buds. His loss, I would say--no?

Check out the amazing lineup at Osheaga, a big music/arts festival happening next weekend in my fabulous home town.
Coldplay, The Roots, the Ting Tings, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rufus Wainwright, etc. ,etc.--all at the same show? Hell yes!
I heard the Beastie Boys were supposed to play too, but now apparently they have cancelled.
Oh, and I was in Montreal on the weekend and somehow missed Depeche Mode in concert. Oh noes!
